The city has several weekly papers geared towards the GLBIT community with information on news and upcoming events, and hosts several Miss Gay America pageants. Most of the gay bars, and the country's largest gay-only hotel, are situated in the NW 39th Entertainment District. This strip is the most happening place in OKC, with many gay and straight dance clubs. The Bricktown Historic Entertainment District, though a bit stuffier than 39th, is another good place to head off for dining and shopping, some of OKC's best restaurants are there.
Oklahoma City is home to several art museums and art galleries. Oklahoma is proud of its western heritage, so don't be surprised to see a lot of cowboy hats. In fact embrace it and head out to the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum to get a taste Oklahoma history. It won't be too long before you say "Oklahoma OK!"
